When I first started to model in Second Life, I longed to be made into the stunning women who I had seen in photographs and runway shows. Shortly into the process however, I realized how out of place I felt and how I was so unlike all the models I was striving so hard to be like. I was not pale skinned and waif thin – I had colour and curves and was proud of them. I felt at that time, that role models for me were difficult to find, so I walked away. I recently returned to the model world, this time more as myself, and decided to conform in any way to please anyone but myself would not be productive, so I did not. I returned as me, a woman of colour, confident and proud of who I am and ready to face the world. I entered Colour of Couture – Top Model Competition because it felt as though it was calling me home. I felt that I would be able to absorb all that it had to offer as well as allow me the opportunity to give back all of my mind and soul in return. I felt that I finally could be myself and be celebrated for that. I believe that Miss Colour of Couture should be easy going, adaptable, take direction easily and poised under pressure. She should be friendly, kind, outgoing, adaptable and imaginative. Miss Colour of Couture’s style should be fearless, unique, flexible, timeless and elegant. What is your role as a Woman of Colour in SL Fashion? Fashion in Second Life is free and exciting, constantly evolving and vast. I feel that the freedom to represent yourself is endless. You have at your fingertips, anything you will ever need to create and re-create yourself time and time again. You have the ability to change styles as often as you change your mood. As a Woman of Colour in Second Life, I am proud that I can exemplify diversity in fashion as a Second Life. My role is to bring fashion to life and to bring the designers visions to life. How will you promote the title of Miss CoC should you win? I have been promoting the Miss Colour of Couture mostly by word of mouth. I speak about it with my friends as well as model friends who were not familiar with it. I also use my FLICKR to display my challenge photos where I am receiving positive feedback from both friends and strangers. I have it posted in my profile where even strangers have asked what the contest was and how they can follow it. If I should win, I will proudly wear my title, attend events as a spokesperson for COC, take part in any shows or events as the COC spokesperson , allow my profile to reflect my win as well as use my FLICKR and my newly under construction blog to let everyone know what I am doing along the way. What impression would you like to leave with them if you do not win? If I win this competition I expect everyone to finally realize that I am better then them. If I lose this competition, they should know that the competition is fixed and I lost unfairly. The answer to both these questions is simple. I want people to know who I am now and expect that will not change whether I win or lose. What goals and ambitions do you have? A year from now I envision myself being an active, sought after model, both in print and runway. My basic goals and ambitions are steadfast – to always improve my model skills, seek new knowledge and understanding to further my career, continue to study photography and become better with my Second Life photos and finally have a successful and popular fashion blog, unique from everything that is out there now. More specific goals include more fashion titles and contest wins including COC. Ms. Mohna Lisa Couture 2013 I am new to the model world – I have been learning so much and hope that my freshness is seen as an asset and not a flaw. I am confident that I have what it takes to excel with this organization and fell very honoured to have been a part of it.
hahahaha I am just joking of course =D
I am dedicated to being a model and learning things as I go. Whether I win or lose, I want people to always see me, kind and helpful, eager to learn new things and always ready and willing to take on new challenges and meet new people.

A passion for promoting positive imagery of people of color is my top reason for competing. I want to show women of all black heritages that they are more than the stereotypes seen in the world. Ebony women have many faces, they are goddesses and strong but also the pretty and sweet girl next door. I represent all those layers within the ebony woman and will spend my time showing them in this competition. She is highly knowledgeable. Punctual, hard working and has a light that radiates inside and out. She embodies exotic beauty and encourages people to show theirs as well. Dedicated to giving back and raising awareness about issues faced by people of color. What is your role as a Woman of Colour in SL Fashion? Over the years, fashion in SL has grown up a lot. In part with the invention of mesh and multiple layers. Today’s model has more ways to execute a striking and fierce look, but the stakes are higher to make it as a top model. As a professional model of color, I strive to be the best representation of an ebony model. It is my role to connect with not just my beautiful black ladies but to show every woman of color that breaking out of the ordinary does not mean you have forgotten your roots. How will you promote the title of Miss CoC should you win? I have made an announcement of the contest and my entry on my blog. I will review the fashions of the challenges given also. Taking to social medias like facebook and twitter to share public events. During my reign, I will promote unity and support for all communities. I will try to create events to educate and get people involved to explore countries and causes not well represented. It is important that my time is put to good use and to show concern for all humankind. What impression would you like to leave with them if you do not win? That my style, poise and presence will resonate with them. The effort and determination I put into this competition and beyond. To let this inspire them to go for their own dreams too. Never stopping because someone said they couldn’t do it. This would be the same even if I am not the winner. What goals and ambitions do you have? Being a part of more agencies and someday doing a few big productions for charity or otherwise. I want to know more of the new generation of models, designers and work with them too. To keep pushing past my limits as a model and stylist; to be legendary and timeless. I want my personal relationships to grow and continue to have great love and support for them. Awards & Agencies. Print: Achievements: I am thankful for this experience and the memories will be with me always. Dare to hope and dream.

I auditioned the COC, as it is a Beauty Pageant that I coveted enormously since last year, but I knew nothing of Second life expectations for Model and therefore I could not attend. Today, I have the basics of modeling and I have applied for this great contest which provides an opportunity for women of color to better make themselves known in the world of fashion sl and I’m proud and happy. According to me, Miss Colour of Couture is a true ambassador of Second Life Fashion. She is the Miss world of women of color in the world of virtual mode. So the special qualities an ambassador must have is: open mind, intellectual curiosity to other cultures while not forgetting its own origins and finally learn to show humanism. Regarding the style of Miss Colour of sewing, it has to stay stylish, whatever the style, attitude the Miss Colour of Couture wish to adopt. What is your role as a Woman of Colour in SL Fashion? I think this is a fascinating world that will continue to have a bright future ahead of him though as Model it is often difficult to reach the top. However, I think it would be great that advertising is done on a larger scale. Today, I have no knowledge of advertising other than in groups dedicated to fashion, it would be nice to expand it. How will you promote the title of Miss CoC should you win? As a candidate, I wear the tag as soon as I can in each of my trips sl I posted the promotional video and WordPress this competition on my facebook page. I also indicate in my profile that I am a finalist in 2013. As a winner of this Beauty Pageant, I will promote this title in facebook groups dedicated to fashion that I know by posting different outfits with style card. I put in my profile the logo of the organization by indicating that I am the winner in 2013. I will promote it to all people interested in fashion that I know explaining that this is an amazing supermodel competition in which Models have both fun and serious works. For the next coulour of couture competition I will I will do the advertising through my facebook page links so that people wanting to apply in 2014 can know all what this Beauty Pageant is about. What impression would you like to leave with them if you do not win? If I am the winner, I’d like people to feel they have found the rare pearl lol. More seriously, ideally, I’d like them to see me in all the qualities that should be the winner. It’s so much fun to be unanimous … If I do not win I’d just like them to feel they attended a great event in which all the models have given the best. What goals and ambitions do you have? I want to continue my career as a model and work for large agencies. I also want to become a clothes Designer. My year will also be dedicated to the of women of colors through second life in fashion agencies or elsewhere. I’d like to be able to convince everyone who likes fashion but afraid to make the first step in this world, that they haven’t to be afraid this demanding world would provide a lot. for exemple in assertiveness. I was Model (runway) for Elysée Fashion Agency in 2012 (now closed);
I applied for the richness that competition brings to me because I still learn a lot from others, but also for the fun it gives me while working seriously.
My role as a Woman of Colour in Second Life Fashion is to promote our beauty as well as the different approaches we, women of color, can have on Fashion ie (value added)
I am currently Model (runway) for Cristal France Fashion Agency 2012/2013;
I am currently Model (runway) for Charltina’s Fashion Agency;
I am currently Model (runway) for Elite France Fashion Agency.

I was excited to join the Colour of Couture Contest to represent my grandfather’s homeland that was such a big part of making me who I am today. I love my heritage and I honor his memory. If I win COC, I hope to represent women of color and the many ethnic heritages at various events and future competitions. However, no matter the outcome, I am grateful for the chance to stretch myself as a virtual model, grow, learn new things, and most importantly gain experience. I think is very important that Miss CoC posses a multitude of positive personality and cognitive attributes to help dispel any long lingering stereotypes and bigotry. It is vitally important that she is able to Lead by Example, bring her heritage to the forefront and always show her pride in the country which she stands. As Miss CoC she must be stylish, dressed in her culture, but able to put a twist on current fashion trends to make it her own. As a Woman, Miss CoC is Articulate, Adaptive, Creative, optimistic and Courageous. She Focused on her goals, pays attention to detail, and able to meet the demands she faces. Above all, she posses a certain type of poise: Friendly & Outgoing when needed but also Quiet & Reflective when the time is right. What is your role as a Woman of Colour in SL Fashion? I think that SL Fashion gives you the ability to create your own style in any genre and be a trendsetter. All facets of RL fashion are available in SL Fashion through any one of the many talented designers here in SL. I feel very connected to my heritage through the fashion designs my avatar wears. As a woman of Colour in SL Fashion, I represent my RL heritage by staying true to who I am as women of Colour in RL. I am proud to wear the visions of the SL designer who puts their heart and soul into recreating the heritages that we all have been born into and choose to uphold. How will you promote the title of Miss CoC should you win? I entered the Miss CoC with a positive and professional attitude, and immediately felt proud to be a part of this competition. I will give my very best in every challenge and meet every requirement for the competition. I will be bold and proud to represent the organization through everything I do: blogging, flickr, my profile, facebook, my resume, wearing my tag at events and places, supporting the other candidates publicly and privately. If I should win, I will do all that can to represent woman of Colour all over SL I will not only meet every appointment that is asked of me, but I will go outside the box, exceeding all expectations, and bring a renewed energy to the many “avatars” of colour in SL. I would then continue to go above and beyond everything I do in an effort to win MVW, so that I may represent all woman of fashion across the grid. What impression would you like to leave with them if you do not win? I would like people to see that I gave my very best effort and truly earned the title by consistently being the best candidate through each task of this competition. I want them to see that I am a woman of character: humble; have integrity; style; all by staying true to my heritage which qualified me to represent CoC on any SL platform/stage. What goals and ambitions do you have? Whether I win Miss CoC or applaud another woman who did, I will continue doing the same things I do now, only I will have gained more knowledge through the experience of this competition, enabling me to do it all on a much grander scale. I will take the non-profit organization “Models Giving Back” to new heights and have MGB be a household name on the SL fashion GRID. I will increase the number and types of events by working with designers and models alike in SL who all want to help raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Awareness and Mammograms. I will be rising at least double of what we are doing on a monthly basis now thereby increasing the RL donation amounts. Education: MVW, Avenue & Mui Mukerji I am extremely honored to be a part of this competition. I feel blessed to be representing my heritage – Scottish, Swedish, Spanish and Italian and giving homage to what has made me the person I am today in both SL and RL. I feel priviledged to be in this competition with so many beautiful women of Colour and would like to thank the judges and staff of Colour of Couture for their confidence, advice and pushing me to be the best that I can possibly be. Thank you for having a competition that raises awareness for the beautiful indiginous heritages around the world, I’ve learned so much about them all during this process and value very single one of these ladies even more now than I already had.
If I do not win I want everyone to see that I am supportive of the person that will be representing CoC in the MVW competition. I would also want them to know that I am someone to watch for in the future. Although humble enough to concede to the judge’s decision in this competition, I am ready to try again so that I may one day proudly wear the title of Miss CoC, and most hopefully the title of Miss Virtual World.
I want to continue sharing my experiences and knowledge with other models and train new models to be the very best they can be, and stay true to their heritage no matter what it is.

I’ve entered this contest because I really had a great experience taking I think Miss Colour of Couture needs to reunite several important What is your role as a Woman of Colour in SL Fashion? I’ve always loved fashion (I am a retired Real Life model), so when I How will you promote the title of Miss CoC should you win? As a finalist I’ll maintain my Flickr stream and social network accounts What impression would you like to leave with them if you do not win? I think in both cases I would like people to think of me as an What goals and ambitions do you have? In this past year I learned a lot and made a lot of good friends, I had Training: Represented by: Print work/Machinima: Other jobs related: Past Works: Contests/Castings: Just to say I feel very happy and honored to be selected as a finalist
part of its past edition last year, and being a newcomer model at that
time, it was my first big contest participation. This year I wanted to
enter again to test myself and see how I felt it after a year of
experience. As a real life woman of color I thought it was a nice chance
to represent my roots and culture here in Second Life, and I also wanted
to represent not only myself or my heritage but all women of color from
different cultures and countries.
qualities, both as a woman representative in RL and as a SL model, all
together in a whole individual: a warm personality, compasive of others,
interested in RL problems, open to help in any way possible, ability to
style, impeccable behavior, perfection in any task given and a
commanding presence wherever she goes. She has to be an ambassador
representing the vast range of women of colour in Second Life and also
in the fashion industry: a complete role model for us all.
came to Second Life I wanted to try and be a model once again. Fashion
to me was and is a way to express my inner self and personality through
it.
The modeling world in Second Life is a very competitive field, where
only the ones that set apart from the rest by being unique and really
talented succeed.
Second Life fashion is full of endless possibilities, creativity,
textures, imagination, colors, patterns and designs.
As a woman of color in SL Fashion my aim is to represent my ethnia at my
very best possible, by bringing those creations to life adding my personal
tastes and vision to each creation I am assigned to showcase, to show
that we are not just an exotic look and that we are capable, fierce,
smart and hard working.
updated with pics of the challenges going on during the competition, as
well as featuring the contest and my finalist status in my profiles for
each site and Second Life.
If I have the honor to win, I would love to represent the Women of
Colour within my highest standards possible, by promoting the CoC
Organization in different events and shows, by blogging for them and by
holding charity events that can benefit different organizations related
to what my title is representing. I would offer myself to work also with
the CoC Organization in helping the planning of the next year’s edition
and be there for what they would need and as winning means to go
participate to the MVW Pageant of course I will do what I can to
represent the CoC Organization during the course of the competition,
giving the best of me.
approachable person, friendly, hardworking, with a passion for fashion and
a compassionate heart, someone who was true to herself during the entire
contest and that worked and works hard to be the best she can be.
my ups and downs in my modeling career and all together helped me to
gain strength, self esteem and go on. So a year from now I envision myself still in the Second Life Modeling Industry, working in a regular basis as a model and stylist.
Ambitions? Yes of course I have them! Could be working as a model for
well established agencies within the Fashion Industry, taking part in
several castings and important contests to promote my name and my
work, and I would really love to win a contest or to be chosen to represent a brand to experience that feeling ![]()
Goals? To keep growing and evolving by attending more academies/modeling schools, to enrich my SL experience both as a model and as a human being.
I would like to be recognized in the SL industry as an estimated ebony
model, with impeccable behavior and style.

What goals and ambitions do you have? I will continue to model and do shows and contests, perhaps even teach in a prestige school and academy. I also want to do photos and learn how to design skins. I am a graduate of EVANE (2007) and MVW (2011) model academies. Again, I am honored and blessed to represent my Hawaiian ~ Asian heritage in this competition. I am also blessed to work with many women of different parts of our great world we live. Thank you to all the visionaries and coordinators of this competition and to everyone who is involved in this event. I am blessed to be a part of this and I wish the very best to all the wonderful women I have the pleasure working with. Good luck and Thank you…..
Her style should be elegant, classy and professional where ever she goes and comfortable in home life.
Miss Colour of Couture will and needs to be herself most of all and display it in a personal and professional nature.
Second life fashion has come a very long way in SL. From heavy primed past to mesh present day, it’s all growing so fast and is becoming more and more popular each day. Fashion is big in SL and gives a fresh look to the SL world.
Designers are trying new things and it’s exciting for people in SL to see it changing every year.
As a woman, I play a big part in the fashion industry in SL. I can give feed back on my culture and help designers thru styling and impute to open up there creativity and incorporate new things into there designing world. I can also share my styling tips with others too.
I see fashion in SL continuing to BOOM and new things coming from it in the future.
As a winner, I will continue to promote Colour of Couture same as above but I will also promote it thru fund raisers, speeches, vendor boards and any other ways I can in SL as well as RL too.
But my goal is to be a finalist in MVW and be MVW itself. This is my goal that I would like to reach and finish.
I have been in numerous shows for agencies as AVCON, Passion, HOB, Team Edo, Siren among others. Have been in contest and completions.
Have been Miss Angel Dessous, Miss Mode’le, Miss Finesmith 2010, Calender model of month November 2012, to name a few. Have also done print work for House of Beningborough, Captured Photo book, Angel Dessous competition and various others.

As a woman of Color in both worlds, I chose to enter this competition in hopes to not only mold myself for the better with the challenges set forth but to also learn and help others along the way. Becoming a representative for women everywhere as a result of winning the competition would not only excel one on the road of modeling but would also allow one to add changes and influence unstoppable trends that leak out into the real world as well.
One should be unique and edgy, helpful and kind, stylish and artistic, powerful and wise. As Miss Colour of Couture one should always keep an open mind, be willing to educate, learn, and push past the norm. It is important to step out of ones shell for many shall look up to you and mirror every detail. Attitude is important as well…keeping a level head and approaching obstacles tactfully and with much needed grace shows ones positive strength in the face of challenges. What is your role as a Woman of Colour in SL Fashion? The fashion in Second Life is limitless and truly goes beyond the norm (you could even style a simple box and make it the next big thing). The fashion industry in world makes that of real life almost dull (but not quite). I truly am blown away and am always on the lookout for the next breathtaking piece…thanks to so many wonderful designers, one would never have long to wait for the next hottest virtual trend. My role is a model, blogger, manager, educator, and designer, I still have a long way to go but am not ashamed of what I have accomplished so far. How will you promote the title of Miss CoC should you win? I blog and proudly wear my tag in many of the fashion events I attend or castings. I place my styles for the challenges on FLICKR (which automatically pop up on Facebook) and with the name and link on the front of my profile, many are able to see how the competition is going. When helping others, I often encourage them to push forward past any obstacle, to hold their beautiful heads high and to embrace their ethnicity and gender and never look back. That no matter who you are you can succeed and should never hold your head down. What impression would you like to leave with them if you do not win? It is my hope that they see me as unique, fierce, passionate, and inspirational. That they are aware of my willingness to always help and learn, to listen and advise. That they are awe struck by how well I mold to the ever changing trends and that no matter what I keep a level head. I would like people to see me as limitless and artistic with a spicy flare. What goals and ambitions do you have? A year from now, I envision redefining the term fabulous in Second life as shown thru my stylings and modeling abilities. I hope to master design, add edge and ʺjaw droppingʺ to my artistic talent. I hope to have led/helped at several charities and increase awareness of wounded warrior programs in the virtual world. I wish to also aid in the education of models and those who are just starting in the virtual world. Face of EVOLVE & Model/Blogger Be the exception to the norm, always help others no matter the path they face, challenge yourself to come out of your comfort zone, and no matter the way of the world…always know you are blessed and unique.
