Colour of Couture is a Top Model Competition created to bring mainstream awareness to Women of Color in Second Life Fashion — including Aboriginal, African/African Diaspora, Alaska Native, Asian, Caribbean, Latin American, Maori, Native American Indian, South Sea and Pacific Island, and Indigenous heritages throughout the world.

You do not need not be a woman of color in RL to participate, but your avatar should represent the heritage of one of these groups and have the spirit of women of color which includes a willingness to cooperate and collaborate, a love of culture and the desire to honor women of color for their contributions and achievements

Miss Colour of Couture will be that woman who can represent the celebrated diversity of models in SL. Unique in appearance and styling Miss CoC will be a combination of grace and elegance and have a commanding presence on the runway. Miss Colour of Couture will be a welcomed ambassador to the fashion world with a care and ambition to help others.

If you would like to be considered, please follow the instructions below carefully as entries that do not meet the criteria will not be considered. The Search has begun for the First Annual Colour of Couture Top Model Competition. Good Luck to all of you..

HOW TO ENTER:

Please submit (1) FULL PERM headshot &(1) FULL PERM full body shot in swimwear.

Rename your pictures “CoC Entry (your name)”

Place your FULL PERM 1024 x 1024 (this size only, edit so they are proper proportion before sending) PICS IN A NOTECARD.

Rename the notecard “CoC Entry – (your name)”

Send notecards to ColourofCouture Resident

ADDITIONAL THINGS TO CONSIDER FOR ENTRY:

First entries will be taken up until March 2, 2012 at 11:59pm SLT

There will be two castings only as we are looking for our “It” girl. You will receive a notecard if you are chosen to walk before the judges, styled with a theme in mind that will be given by the COC organization. The judges will be looking closely at the following: walk, posing, styling, prim alignment and overall avatar appearance, interviewing abilities as well as following precise directions.

Photoshop is allowed, but please keep photographs realistic so that it reflects what you actually look like in Second Life. (That’s why we have live auditions too).

If you receive enough points from our judges , you will be announced as an official Colour of Couture Candidate 2012.

At the end of the auditions, the official announcement will go out for the candidates of the Colour of Couture Top Model Competition.

The Colour of Couture competition will be held on May 6, 2012 @ 10am SLT and the Patch Auditorium. Please be aware that all rehearsals will be held on Saturdays. If you cannot commit to this schedule, please do not audition at all.

CONTEST RULES:

Miss Colour of Couture will hold the title for a period of one (1) year and will crown the subsequent winner.

As Miss CoC, the winner is expected to represent herself as a woman of color without exception for the entire length of her reign.

Miss CoC and all contestants will uphold the highest standards of the title and be available for any and all promotional ventures the competition has arranged.

Should the winner of Miss CoC be unable to maintain the expectations of the title the next in line will then be appointed to the position.

Miss Colour of Couture will be expected to blog for the organization’s website. Training will be available if needed.

Miss Colour of Couture will be expected to plan and host a charitable event quarterly during her reign.

We are accepting avatars that have competed in Miss Virtual World. However, if chosen as Miss Colour of Couture the next in line who has not previously competed in the finals of the MVW will go on to represent Colour of Couture in the Miss Virtual World Pageant

Miss Colour of Couture will suggest, to the COC,an appropriate country or nation to represent to Miss Virtual World. The COC commitee will have final say to avoid conflicts with other contests or commitments already made through the MVW organization.
